Do you offer a free interview lesson?

Yes!

What can I expect at my free interview lesson?

The instructor will ask you about your experience with music, your goals and expectations with lessons, type of music (styles/genres) you want to learn, and go over what the flow of lessons will be like.  The instructor will do an evaluation of where your student is at if they have had previous music experience. The instructor will introduce our methods, customized curriculum approach and policies. They will also go over our interactive online learning platform with you, which will have your assignments, practice timer, scheduling and billing.

What are the practice expectations for my student?

Depending on the student’s level and length of lesson time, students are usually expected to practice four days a week between 15-45 minutes each day.  Students are asked to time their practice within our interactive, online learning platform (teacherzone.com).

How do you handle billing and tuition?

Our academy operates in three semesters: Fall (18 weeks), Spring (18 weeks), and Summer (10 weeks).  Students are billed monthly based on the tuition package they have chosen each semester. We accept debit, credit, and ach payments online. Payments are deducted automatically the first week of each month for the student’s convenience.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes!  Discounts are available for homeschooling families, single income families, families enrolling 3 or more students, and students taking weekday lessons before 3pm.  Scholarship funds may be available based on enrollment and donations for families in need.

What are the tuition package options?

Pricing is based on length, frequency of the lessons, the option to enroll in the performance program, and lesson location.  We offer lessons in your home for your convenience.

How long are lessons usually?

Lessons are typically weekly and start at 30 minutes for beginners.  Intermediate students or students wishing to learn multiple instruments typically enroll in 45 minute lessons.  We offer 60-90 minute lessons for advanced students and adults.

Where are lessons located?

Lessons, rehearsals, and group classes are available at the founder’s home studio in Tigard, Oregon.  We have traveling instructors that offer private lessons in your home. Lessons are available in Beaverton, Oregon at one of our instructor’s offices as well.

What questions should students think through before enrolling?

  • Do you have a suitable instrument available at your home to practice on?
  • Can the student make time to practice 15 mins a day a minimum of four times a week?
  • What styles of music do you enjoy?
  • Why do you want to learn more about music, and what are your end goals?
  • Are you interested in using piano as a spring board to learning other instruments?
